Straight answers, including the unflattering ones.
Questions chambers actually ask us during evaluation. Pricing questions live on the pricing page; security questions live on the security page.
Getting started
How long does it take to get up and running?
Most chambers are live in one to three weeks. The variable is the state of your existing member data, not the software — a clean spreadsheet moves faster than fifteen years of a legacy database with duplicates in it. We start with a data review in week one so you know the timeline before you commit to a launch date.
Do we need technical staff to run Chamberzu?
No. Chamberzu is built for chambers whose entire staff is two to five people, none of whom are engineers. Setup is guided, and there is nothing to install, host, or patch.
What does onboarding actually involve on our side?
An export of your current member data, about two hours of your time to confirm tiers and dues amounts, and a review pass where you check the imported records before anything goes live. We do the mapping and cleanup.
Can we try it before committing?
Yes. We will set up a working environment with your own member data imported so you are evaluating your chamber, not a generic demo account.
Migrating from what we use now
Can you import from our current chamber software?
In most cases, yes. We import from CSV and Excel exports, which every major association platform can produce, and we have handled the common export shapes. Send us a sample export and we will tell you honestly what will and will not come across.
What about our historical dues and payment records?
Historical invoices and payments import alongside members, so tenure and payment history survive the move. That history is what makes retention reporting useful in year one instead of year three.
Will our member-facing URLs break?
Directory profile URLs are generated from member names and are stable once set. If you are replacing an existing public directory, we will map your old URLs to the new ones so search rankings and inbound links survive.
What if we are mid-way through a renewal cycle?
That is the normal case. We import open invoices with their existing due dates, so renewals in flight continue on schedule rather than restarting.
Members and the portal
Do our members have to create accounts?
No. Members can pay invoices and register for events from a link in an email without ever logging in. The portal is there for members who want self-service; it is not a wall in front of paying you.
Can members edit their own directory listing?
Yes, and you can require staff approval before changes publish if you would rather keep editorial control.
What if a member business has several people involved?
Member businesses hold multiple contacts, each with roles — billing, voting delegate, newsletter recipient. When someone leaves that company, you update the contact and the membership record is untouched.
Will this replace our email newsletter?
Chamberzu sends transactional mail — invoices, receipts, renewal notices, event confirmations — reliably and on your own sending domain. If you have a newsletter tool you like, keep it; syncing your list to it is on our integration roadmap.
Events
Is there a limit on how many events we can run?
No. Events, registrations, and attendees are unlimited on every plan. We do not charge per event or per ticket, because that would punish you for doing the thing your members value most.
Can we charge different prices to members and non-members?
Yes — member rate, non-member rate, and early-bird windows. The platform prices the ticket based on who is registering, so there is no code to circulate or leak.
Can we sell sponsorships and tables?
Yes. Sponsor packages and multi-seat tables sell alongside individual tickets, and sponsor revenue reports separately from ticket revenue.
How does check-in work at the door?
Open the attendee list on a phone or tablet, search the name, tap to check in. Walk-ups can register and pay on the spot without a separate flow.
Data, access, and control
Who owns the data we put in?
You do. You can export every record — members, contacts, invoices, payments, events, registrations — at any time, in open formats, without asking us and without a fee.
Can we control what our staff and volunteers see?
Yes. Roles cover membership, events, finance, and read-only access. A committee volunteer can run their program without seeing member financials.
Is our data separate from other chambers'?
Yes. Every chamber's data is isolated, and access is authorised on the server for every request against the caller's chamber and role. See the security page for detail.
What happens to our data if we cancel?
We send you a full export and delete your data within 90 days, or sooner if you ask. There is no notice period and no exit fee.
Support and the company
What support is included?
Email support on every plan, answered by people who work on the product. Growth plans get same-business-day response, and Enterprise adds priority response with an SLA and phone support.
Are you going to be acquired and shut down?
Chamberzu is a product of Intellizu LLC, an independent, self-funded software company. We are not venture-backed and not building toward an acquisition. The practical guarantee, though, is not our intentions — it is that you can export everything you have at any time.
How do you decide what to build next?
Customer demand, mostly. We are small enough that a specific, well-argued request from a chamber genuinely moves our order of work, and honest enough to tell you when something is not on the list.
We are a small chamber on a tight budget. Is this realistic for us?
Probably. Chambers under 250 members are the case we designed the Starter plan around. If the number still does not work, email us with some context — we would rather find a way than lose a chamber that needs the help.
This is what your members actually get.
Several of the questions above — do members need accounts, can they edit their own listing, can they pay online — are easier to answer with the screen itself. This is the member portal as a member business sees it.

The fastest answer is seeing it with your data.
We'll import a sample of your real member list before the call, so you're evaluating your chamber rather than a demo account.
No credit card. No obligation. A real conversation with the people who build the product.
